So I end of giving lots of cards each year, namely handmade DIY birthday cards, but there is one card I make that has to be the most special of all. My Mom’s birthday is in the summer, and by spring, I am always on the lookout for the best birthday card to make for Mom. Usually, I look for a creative idea with lots of handmade details, one she is sure to appreciate and be able to proudly display so all her friends can see it. This adorable gift box card was my top pick to make for my mother, and it did not disappoint. I have to admit, mine actually turned out cuter than the picture. I used a plaid paper and red ribbon, and it was so colorful and cute, I wanted to keep it for myself. Say Happy Birthday to your favorite special person with this do it yourself birthday card project.

Creating personalized birthday cards for your customers or employees is much better than purchasing pre-designed boxed sets. Adding details like a custom message, your digital signature, your company logo, and even photographs will guarantee a better reaction from your recipients. Employees and customers alike will realize the effort you put in to create one of a kind customized birthday cards for their special day.

The designs from Omiyage are always some of my favorites, simple but stylish statements. She has lots of cute birthday card ideas with washit tape that are simple to recreate at home and also lots of other fun things to look at. Paper crafts and washi tape crafts are her specialty, so if you have a little extra free time, be sure to poke around her site for more cool easy DIY ideas.

There are many options for printing great-looking birthday party invitations, but the most economical way is to print on a premium 16-point gloss paper.  You'll also want to stick with a standard size such as 5-inch by 7-inch to keep your birthday party invitation printing costs cheap; however, when it comes to colors you can go with full color since this option really costs little more than black and white yet has much more bang for the buck. Beyond those options, you would be wise to get matching envelopes (also cheap) and have a hardcopy proof sent to your doorstep before you actually print the entire run. The last thing you want is for a mistake to go unnoticed until your invitations are printed, when it will be too late or too costly to make changes. A hardcopy proof does cost a few dollars, but it's cheap insurance that the rest of the run will go off without a hitch. Pass your proof around to friends, family members and co-workers so you can get more than just one set of eyes looking it over for errors.
